As a career and life coach, I love supporting people, inspiring and motivating them, challenging them to shift their perspective, and watching them grow and flourish as they broaden their horizons through their processes of change. Coaching, as a professional and primarily career-specific form of counselling, means uncovering reality, developing goals and visions, and creating a space where people can realise and fulfil their potential, discovering their untapped potential and inner treasures.
As an assessor, I learned to take on the more passive – and therefore opposite – role of an alert, present, and curious observer; especially since assessment is primarily about nonverbal communication, intuitive perception, and evaluation. In this field, I was able to awaken my still dormant potential and, in doing so, discover and integrate a valuable complement to my character and disposition. It was very interesting and educational for me to sense people and their potential, as well as their limitations.
As a psychological counsellor, I delve deeply into people’s experiences and behaviours. In addition to the fields of personality and occupational psychology, the topics of identity formation, reconciliation, coming to terms with the past, and work -life balance – all of which ultimately contribute to a person’s healing process – form the focus of my counseling work.
As a spiritual and life counsellor, I enjoy reflecting on the meaning of life, as well as its philosophy, processes, and faith – as I understand them – and I strive to live these out more consciously and practically in my daily life and to experience them intimately. This includes topics such as orientation, values, meaning, spirituality, and prayer, which I believe are essential for finding meaning, self-actualisation, healing, and personal growth. I enjoy delving into the deeper layers of a person’s being, establishing closeness, and building trust.
As a social educator and peacemaker , I’ve indeed been able to break out of my previous framework and experience a quantum leap – both in terms of my clients and on a personal level. From managers to rebellious youth, drug users, the homeless, and the neglected – those who are anything but conformist or in line with societal norms – they present a significant challenge while simultaneously enriching my life. Frontline work is a vast arena where people, society, faith, and culture – on the one hand – meet and embrace, and on the other – clash! Promoting coexistence, acting as a mediator, and advocating for the well-being and peace of all in public spaces. No wonder such peacemakers are in demand on the front lines – they neutralise, de-escalate, mediate, and bring people together!
As the Host and Manager of a B&B, I loved welcoming people to our region with genuine hospitality. At the same time, I often worked as a tour guide, showing them the hidden gems of our region and off-the-beaten-path spots. It truly brought me joy to share the cosy living room with all these different people and cultures for a short time and to chat about everything under the sun. Not to mention the culinary diversity.
As a government and official Interpreter, I had the privilege of serving as a bridge, enabling people from different nations, languages, cultures, religions, and social backgrounds to meet and communicate with one another.
As a management Assistant, I learned to be a great support to people in leadership positions – especially managers – and to accompany, encourage, and complement them as they navigated work processes and tackled daily challenges and significant responsibilities.
